EasyTransfer at the 2024 Great Bay Area Technology and Education Innovation Summit

The 2024 Great Bay Area Technology and Education Innovation Summit officially commenced on December 6, co-hosted by Providence Academy, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Federation, Hong Kong Gathering Talents Limited and CTF Education Group. This event was designed to connect technological and educational innovation resources across the Greater Bay Area and globally, driving new productivity to support Hong Kong’s development as an international innovation hub and a global talent powerhouse. The summit received a congratulatory letter from The Hon. John Lee Ka-chiu, Chief Executive of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), acknowledging the significant impact of the summit on technological innovation and educational development in the Greater Bay Area.



The summit welcomed over 50 esteemed guests from government, academia, and industry to discuss the opportunities and challenges Hong Kong faces as a global innovation and talent center within the dynamic landscape of the Greater Bay Area. Distinguished attendees included Lillian Cheong Man-lei, Deputy Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry of the HKSAR; Cheng Wu, Deputy Director of the Education and Technology Department at the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in HKSAR; Kwok Tung LAI, Legislative Council Member and Former Secretary for Security; Hailong Shang, Legislative Council Member and Founder of the New-Quality Entrepreneurs Association; and Yang Wang, Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.




The summit opened with remarks from Lillian Cheong Man-lei, followed by keynote addresses from prominent leaders. Yang Wang, Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Zheng Wang, Chairman of Rongfeng Holding Group and Honorary Chairman of Hong Kong Hua Jing Society; Bin Dong, Chief Representative of the Sino-International Entrepreneurs Association; Zhiyu Chen, General Manager of Hong Kong Gathering Talents Limited; Jennifer Yu Cheng, Group President and Deputy Vice Chairwoman of CTF Education Group; Tony Gao, President of EasyTransfer; and Fan Yang, Founding Dean of Providence Academy delivered separate opening remarks on behalf of the organizers, sharing insights on how the Greater Bay Area can leverage its unique advantages to drive innovation and talent development.







Two engaging roundtable discussions explored critical themes. The first discussion "Building an International Innovation Hub and Developing New Productivity," delivered by Hailong Shang, Legislative Council Member; Jerry Lou, CEO of Everpine Capital; Shuokun Huang, Global Partner of Tiger Brokers; Andy H. Chang, Partner of Hermitage Capital; Weimin Tan, Chief Economist for Hong Kong at China Asset Management Limited; and Jianan Wang, Council Member of the Guangdong Youth Federation, moderated by Xiaodi Jiang, co-founder of Xingluan Tianxia Media. They focused on how Hong Kong’s position as a global innovation and financial center can align with the Greater Bay Area’s industrial strengths to accelerate productivity and support Chinese enterprises' global ambitions.


 
In the second discussion, "Opportunities and Challenges in Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Greater Bay Area," participants included Ruihao Zhuang, Managing Director at CPE; Ai Fan, Founding Partner of Haiju Capital; Xiang Cai, Partner at CMC Capital; Shouzheng Cheng, Global Partner at Russell Reynolds Associates; Zhongheng Liu, Founder and Executive Chairman of Trinity Medical Group; Yan Liu, Associate Dean at Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management Shenzhen Campus; and Yujun Xie, Associate Professor at the Future Technology Academy of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, moderated by Xuehua Xiao, Founder of Guoyuanli Biotechnology. The discussion delved into how deepened integration in the region provides a historic opportunity for young talent to achieve their potential while contributing to regional growth.

 

 
The summit represents a vital milestone in advancing collaboration and innovation across the Greater Bay Area. It highlights Hong Kong’s ongoing efforts to transform into an international innovation hub and attract global talent to the region.
